Now What I Am Doing
-Baking 6 loaves of Banana Nut Bread
-Finishing up my Christmas letter
-Ignoring the messy house
-Trying to take baby steps (check out Flylady if you've never heard of her) with cleaning up my messy house
-Thinking about what Emmanuel -- "God with us" means (with help from Pr. Beisel)
I wish that I could ignore my messy dorm room, but if I leave for Montana without cleaning it, I'm going to go insane. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome, fellow FLYbaby! I've been FLYing for around 2 months. Have you tried a 27 fling boogie yet?

Hi Carla,
ReplyDeleteWell, I have dabbled with FLYing for about two years. The 27 fling boogies are great. Moving works even better in getting rid of junk we didn't need. That was awesome. FLYlady is really against garage sales, but I enjoyed mine last summer. So...I definitely like some of Flylady's info, but pick and choose with other pieces of advice.
I didn't know she's against garage sales...why? Actually, I've never heard of anyone being against them - I try to have one every so often...such as, when I can no longer make it to the washing machine in the basement!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, there's nothing like moving to get rid of junk! Each time I find boxes that were never opened from the previous move, yet I just had to keep that precious stuff...not anymore!
I'm like you - I'm choosing portions of flylady's advice. Just shining the sink, swishing and swiping, and doing a load of laundry a day has really helped me!
The first time I started doing this, I told Chris (our son) that I was flying and was now considered a flybaby. He grinned and asked me if I realized I was calling myself a maggot! Don't suppose flylady would like that on her testimonial board! :)

I love 27 Fling Boogies. They are the only part of Flylady that I seem to be able to keep up with. :)
ReplyDeleteWe missed you Sunday.
