And a sad note...
I read in the newspaper this morning that a man--on his way to a funeral--was struck by a car and killed. This happened in Bangor, PA. Apparently, it was rainy and dark, and the driver, I guess, just didn't see him in time. There was nothing in the article about foul play. The irony of it all reminded me of Alanis Morissette's song Ironic from a few years back. That was one well-written song. Sad, though.
FWIW, I used to think the Ironic song was full of irony, too. But that song has been analayzed many times and only one of her scenerios is actually ironic. The man who was scared to fly and then died in a plane crash was an ironic situation. The rest of the scenerios are just bad luck. But I see your point!
ReplyDeleteAbout ten years ago I wa on my way to a funeral and we were all to meet at the widower's house. He has shot his brains out with a shotgun to the mouth that morning and his daughter found him. I don't know if that's ironic or not.
